Medical Donations

The Rotary Club of Gros Islet has provided substantial assistance to the medical sector in St. Lucia and this assistance goes back many years.

1987 - The Gros Islet Poly-Clinic; Club supplies the Reserve Water Tanks. Cost - $3,500.

2000 - Stand-by Generator for the Poly-Clinic – total cost $58,000; project executed jointly with the British High Commission.

2007 – 2009 - Two shipments arranged through Project CURE and Hilary Herman. Well over US$1 million.

More recently the Poly-Clinic has been presented with an X Ray machine and processor and $5262 worth of accessories and supplies for the machine. These were provided in parternship with the RC of Elk Grove (Illinois).

The Rotary Club in general has done a great deal for St. Lucia and we have benefitted greatly in terms of Blood Services, X-Ray and Diabetic care.
